Onslow County Parks and Recreation April Events

Spring Weekday Walking hosted by Onslow County Parks and Recreation, the City of Jacksonville and Onslow CHIP (Community Health Improvement Process) will step off on Thursday, April 1 at 12:15 p.m. Participants walking three times a week the months of April and May at the location of their choice will be eligible for lunch and door prizes. Specially prepared pizzas courtesy of Pizza Hut will be served on the final day, Friday, May 28, 2010.

Saturday, April 10, 2010 - Onslow Pines Spring 5K Trail Run & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk

Onslow Pines Park, 1244 Onslow Pines Rd, Jacksonville, NC
Late Registration:             6:00 a.m.
Fun Run/Walk:                   7:00 a.m
5K Run:                               7:15 a.m.
Cost is $18 per participant (by April 7) or $20 per participant (after April 7).   Awards will be given to the overall male and female finisher and to the 1^st and 2^nd place male and female to finish in each age group.  T-Shirts will be available to the first 100 runners to register.   This event is a fundraiser for the Onslow Pines Park Concession Stand Fund.  For more information call 910.347.5332.  Click on the following link for the Registration Form and registration details. Celebrate 275! Festival is an event for all the family.  Participate in children/family games and activities; enjoy live musical and dance entertainment, food vendors, rides and amusements, and a petting zoo. Festival Opening Ceremony to be held at 5:00 p.m. MC’d by Jeff Hudson (County Manager).  The evening ends with a patriotic Fireworks Display.  For more information, please call 910.347.5332.
