Spring Craft Fair and Car Show - May 2, 2009 - Downtown Jacksonville NC

The Coastal Carolina Artists & Crafters Guild along with the Onslow Shriners held a day of fun and food for the community to enjoy while showcasing locally crafted works of art and a car show. Held at the Riverwalk Crossing Park in downtown Jacksonville, the one day Spring Craft Fair was free to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 2nd.

This was a great time to see, learn about and purchase lots of quality handcrafted works of art and good food while supporting the Onslow Shrine Club in their fund raising efforts; and for the car enthusiasts a chance to see and vote for their favorite car in the People’s Choice Award.

CellularRE Signs on Century 21 in North Carolina for Text Message Marketing

Peekskill, NY, January 10, 2008 – JTLB Media, which owns and operates CellularRE, one of the leading Real Estate Cellular/Text Message Technology companies (www.CellularRE.com) announced today that the company has entered into a agreement with Sneads Ferry, North Carolina Based Century 21 Action Inc.

CellularRE, the leading company to offer text message and cellular marketing to the real estate industry, announced it has signed on Century 21 Action Inc as a client and will roll out its Cellular and text message marketing program to the Sneads Ferry, North Carolina office. CellularRE has also signed on many other Real Estate offices as clients.

“We are extremely excited about working with Century 21 Action--a leader in real estate--and helping them to promote their properties in the North Carolina market.

“Being the leader in cellular real estate technology, people expect instantaneous information, and we are pleased to bring Real Estate Listings instantly to their customer base through our cellular technology,” says Dean Steinman, CEO of CellularRE.

Through its text message technology, an agent can send out a text message alerting any customer in their database about a new listing that just came on the market. Within 1-3 minutes (depending on carrier), the customer will receive a text message via the cell phone/ or PDA describing the property, including price, size, location, number of bedrooms and baths for residential properties. For commercial space, clients will get texted price per square foot and amenities.

The customer can then click on a link on their phone which will bring them automatically to a wireless website that was built for that listing (through the admin/ software program Cellular RE provides them to use online), and they can view photos, floor-plans and more in-depth listing information. If the customer is interested in the property and desires to see it right away, the customer can click another link right on the text message or wireless website on their phone, and the broker/agent/builder will be dialed immediately to schedule the appointment. This can be done with hundreds of listings per month.

Additionally, when a person drives or walks by a house for sale, apartment for rent, store, or office space for lease, he will see a sign that Cellular RE supplies the agent that has a keyword and a Text Number on it (i.e. Text CellRE101 to 917-324-0252). By texting this into their phone within 1-3 minutes the person will get a text message back with basic listing information. From there they can get click one link on their cell phone and get a wireless website right on their phone that has photos, floor plans, and in-depth listing information.

In addition, CellularRE is working on a new technology to allow cell phone users to see video tours of the home/apartment that they are interested in. “We are very excited to be taking the Cellular marketing of properties to the next level by including video tours though the cell phone,” says Dean Steinman, chief executive officer, CellularRE.

Cellular RE charges a Real Estate office a monthly fee for this complete Cellular marketing service. Depending on how many properties they want to market will dictate the price. For example, 1 listing is $14.99 per month, 5 properties/listings per month is only $20 per month but can be sent out on an unlimited basis. 12 properties/listings per month is $39 and can be sent out on an unlimited basis, and unlimited properties/listings per month are only $159 and can be sent out on an unlimited basis.

About Cellular RE

JTLB Media, owner of CellularRE is one of the first companies to offer cellular marketing to the real estate industry. It allows both residential and commercial realtors, agents and developers to provide clients with information via text message, including price, size, pictures, etc . For more information go to: www.CellularRE.com.

Keeping Christ In Christmas

As the end of the year draws near, people are running to the malls and stores to do their shopping. Each is trying to find the perfect gift for family and friends. Now I'm rather certain there are plenty who will read this post that do not believe in God or Jesus Christ. For those who believe this way and choose not to participate in Christmas, your beliefs are your own.

For those who profess to believe in Jesus Christ and do not stop to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, please do so. I hold the belief that God gave us his only son to show us the important things of this world. I often see how science continually locates "missing pieces" of history further proving specific segments of the Bible.

Last night I stayed up late to see the Geminids meteor shower which helped reinforce my belief in God and how much he must care for us to provide so much.

I ask each of you reading this post to stop a moment and remember what this season is all about. Remember the closing of one year and the beginning of a new. A most of all do unto others... It makes for a great way of life for us all!

Watching The Geminids From Sneads Ferry North Carolina

Last night my younger son and I went outside to watch the stars. The "special reason" for this was to see the yearly occurence of the Geminids meteor showers. As I understand it, the Geminids return each year somewhere around December 12-14 with one of the most dramatic meteor showers to be seen throughout the year.

It seems they arrive from the Gemini constellation which is just left (e.g. North) and down of where Mars shines in our night sky. Last night's show was spectacular.

Living near the water gave my son and I a fantastic opportunity to watch as the shooting stars came by as often as 2-3 per minute. Of course, some where brighter and longer lasting than others. Cloud cover has mostly dissipated making it easier to spot them in so many directions similar to watching a tremendous fireworks display. Who better than God to offer such a fireworks display?

As my son decided he was getting tired and returned inside, I refilled my coffee cup, kissed him goodnight, regrouped and went back out. It dawned on me how seldom we stop to really appreciate such things. This was the first meteor shower I had really taken in such as this. With this realization, I lay in the truck bed gazing at the stars and enjoyed what was placed in front of me thinking life is good...

Prior to all of this I had tried to contact friends and let them know about the upcoming event. As I understand it, some made plans to watch. I only hope they got as much out of the show as I.

Will North Carolina Government Help NC Commercial Fishing Industry?

If you have read or know anything about the North Carolina fishing industry and the fishermen, you already know about the downward spiral of their businesses. Recently, I read another important article in the Fayetteville Observer titled Our View: Government can help save our state’s dying fishing industry.

When you think of the support given farmers (another group having a hard time), why does it not make sense to help in similar fashion our state's commercial fishermen? To me, it makes perfect sense to work towards preserving an industry that supports the local economy as well as bring us much better tasting seafood than the imports ever can!

Please take a moment to read the article in the Observer and, if you agree, contact your governmental leaders to state your opinion. The politicians work for us and need to know what we want for our great state.

The choice is yours!

Bourne Ultimatum Movie

The Bourne series has been a great hit to many people since The Bourne Identity was first out in theaters.

It all started out with The Bourne Identity. The agent who has no past but has only his code name. How will he go on with life? He fights and kills just for information about his past. He was abandoned by the FBI just because he was a test for training. He meets a girl from Tredstone and bonds with her just like James Bond but not just for the love. Tredstone is only a secret society formed by the FBI and used agents for killing people for a reason. She helps him out because first of all, he is being hunted by the FBI, and because she knows that he is going through a hard time with his life.

After that, The Bourne Supremacy made its way to theaters. Jason Bourne is still hunted by the FBI but has a way of knowing what they are going to do before they do so he is prepared. Sometimes he scares me just by spying on the FBI and I think that he might get sniped. He always know what he wants and is going to get it no matter what. Personally, I loved that movie as well as The Bourne Identity. Matt Damon plays Jason Bourne in The Bourne Ultimatum.

In my opinion, Matt Damon has done a great job playing Jason Bourne. Matt Damon has done a great job in other movies as well. He is a character of determination and willing to get objectives done. The Bourne Ultimatum is now playing at Jacksonville Theatres which is where I watched it for the 1st time.

In the new movie, The Bourne Ultimatum, Jason Bourne finds a man who has information about who he needs to see for information about his past. He tries to protect him but the man has no patience and is shot in the head by the FBI. (as you can tell, the FBI doesn't want Bourne to know anything about his past) Jason finally finds the man who he needs to find by the help of his girlfriend from the last two movies. He finds what he needs and everyone is left of at the end set up for another movie. We'll see what they do about Bourne (Damon)

Congratulations to Dixon High Men's Soccer!

Raleigh:

To capture the 1-A North Carolina State Men's Soccer Championship, the Dixon Bulldogs scored three second-half goals to rally from a 1-0 halftime deficit and defeat Polk County 3-1.

With Polk County grabbing a 1-0 advantage in the game’s first 10 minutes on a goal (Russell Kooistra), the Bulldogs retaliated with 2 of their own in a span of 3:35 early in the second half and then put it away with a goal with 4:25 to play. Cory Bowman of the Bulldogs tied the score at the 44:07 mark, and then freshman midfielder Cameron Pitz scored at 47:42 to give Dixon the lead for good. A goal by the speedy sophomore forward James Hansley late in the contest put it away for Dixon. Dixon played most of the game without its leading scorer, Sean Oliveira, who suffered a head injury and was unable to continue. Dixon’s balance and depth made the difference in the contest, especially in the second half. Dixon senior forward Justin Oliver, was voted the Most Valuable Player in the Championship. The Bulldogs earned their first NCHSAA men’s soccer championship in a rematch of the 2003 title game in which Polk beat the Bulldogs 2-1. Dixon ended the season with a record of 14-5-2 after being 4-4-2 at one point.

If you see coach Kevin Hicks, assistant coach Brown or any of the players, let them know that Sneads Ferry supports the Dixon Bulldogs and we are all so proud of them!

Sneads Ferry No Incorporation Please - NIP

There has been a major upheaval in Sneads Ferry, NC these days as people are deciding whether or not to incorporate the town of Sneads Ferry.

Sneads Ferry Incorporation at Issue

Recently, there have been a number of rumors going around the town of Sneads Ferry regarding incorporation of the town and its benefits. Rather than rely on rumors, please investigate the facts including existing laws on the books before deciding whether incorporation is good or bad. See EncToday Forum thread on Sneads Ferry: Stop Incorporation....

Saturday, September 23, 2006:

Today's rally and signature drive far exceeded NIP's (NO INCORPORATION PLEASE) expectations. Even though the weather was quite windy, cloudy and drizzly, it didn't stop a large number of people from coming out and letting their voices be heard. The petition signatures, voter registrations and donations surpassed last week's, which was very impressive. As we were trying to leave around 5:30 PM, the people just kept on coming and we kept signing them up.

Since today's event was so successful, and we feel unfinished, as far as everyone getting an opportunity to sign on with us, we will continue the drive next Saturday, September 30. It will be at the same location, on the vacant lot beside the Sneads Ferry post office on hwy. 172, beginning at 9:00 AM and lasting until.....

We ask that volunteers please come out and help us on Saturday. We need all the volunteers that we can get and we appreciate all that all of you are doing to help.

Thanks to everyone for a job well done!

For more info contact: Fran Hollowell at 327-0691
