Sneads Ferry Residents Have The Heart To Give

In keeping with what the residents of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina are all about, there are multiple events being held in the area to raise funds towards giving a young lady a heart transplant and a brighter future.



Sarah Catbagan Needs A Heart Transplant
Sarah is a 16 year old who is currently in need of a heart transplant. She is being treated at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital.


Sarah is currently a sophomore in high school and would like to go to college to pursue a degree in criminal justice.



Please help give her a second chance by donating to her family to help with mounting hospital bills and to have a Heart Transplant!





Poker Run To Benefit Sarah Catbagan

The Sharks Motorcycle Riding Club and Lo-Re-Lei's Pub & Grill will co-sponsor this Poker Run. Sign ups at 10:00 a.m. The ride will leave Lo-Re-Lei's at 12:00 noon. Stops will include J&K's Full House, Bottoms Up Sports Bar, Brass Pelican and return to Lo-Re-Lei's. Poker hands will cost $10.00 or 3 for $20.00. Door prizes will be awarded. Bar-B-Q plates will include all the fixings and will cost $6.00 each.

Winning Hand Will Receive $150.00 Cash!!!

There will also be a separate Pig Pick'n on August 24, 2008 at Lo-Re-Lei's in Sneads Ferry, NC.

Tickets may be purchased for $6.00 per plate at various locations in and around Sneads Ferry redeemable Aug. 24, 2008 (Sunday) which is the day after the Poker Run.

Lo-Re-Lei's Pub Is Now On MySpace

Keeping up with the trend of entertainment on the web, Lo-Re-Lei's Pub in Sneads Ferry now has a web address on MySpace.com. Their new site is http://www.myspace.com/sneadsferrylorelei which contains pictures of patrons having fun as well as information about regular weekly events.

New Year's Party at Lo-Re-Lei's

I had the pleasure of attending a great party welcoming in the New Year 2008 at Lo-Re-Lei's. Kelly and her staff put on a great event with food, band, pool and plenty of attendees making for a fun filled time for all. Robert, Cindy and all the other employees made this one fantastic must attend if anywhere around the area.

While not as large as some of the year end events in Wilmington, this small town venue made its mark as the place to be where locals could get together and ring in the new year in style.

The band members were very friendly and accommodating as the crowd met and chatted during breaks and even once in a while on stage!

As the evening wore on, the band had the dance floor rockin' and the crowd yelled for more and more.

Lo-Re-Lei Pub & Grill

Recently, I have had the pleasure of visiting Lo-Re-Lei Pub & Grill here in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina just off of Hwy. 210. At first glance you notice this bar looks to be built in a shed. Actually it is more bar than grill but, the food is quite delicious!

There is a wide variety of people who show up in Lo-Re-Lei's from all ages of locals along with a mixture of Marines from Camp Lejeune and tourist from Topsail Island.

This bar has all the basics including a stage for band or karaoke, electronic dart boards and a pool table. Once inside you will notice an entire wall covered with photo's of prior events.

Prices are extremely reasonable for great tasting meals, drinks and even the entertainment. If you are ever around Sneads Ferry, NC then I urge you to give Lo-Re-Lei Pub & Grill a chance. You may be very surprised!
